Davis has also claimed that those imprisoned by the Soviet system of Gulags deserved it. So calling her a Communist is only part of the truth. She's also a terrorist and and advocate of genocide. That probably puts her very square in the middle of the political spectrum at Grinnell College. Well Davis did provide the shotgun to blow the head off a judge who was taken hostage.

I'm sure more than a few of them never made it out alive. She was and no doubt still is a very tough-minded totalitarian. It's hard to believe that there are many Grinnell students and faculty who would want to live in that type of world, but maybe there are. I guess academic freedom means being open to both right and wrong. Grinnell should invite Chicago's Joey Lombardo for 2008. Assuming he gets an aquitted, he'll be available.
