In the latest Newsweek poll, John Edwards is the only Democrat leading both Rudy Giuliani and John McCain. Both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama lead McCain (by a smaller margin than Edwards does) but both Clinton and Obama trail Giuliani.

Lieberman and Gephardt were likely favorites at this point before the 2004 elections and it didn't turn out so hot for them. Dean was way back. I could see Biden or Richardson jump into the top tier of candidates.

There's no way Giuliani or McCain will win in Iowa. They're too moderate for the nutcase Repub primary voters in Iowa. They should put Clinton and Obama and the rest against Romney, Brownback and Huckabee, and see what happens. It's more likely than not.

I think she's saying that Edwards got a strong 2nd in Iowa, but Dean's scream kept him (Edwards) from getting much attention or momentum.
