Geraldine, I just thought that I'd let you know that I also have an ActBlue page which you can find here. Hopefully we'll both be able to garner some good contributions as the general election season begins. However, with your focus on electing a lot of Iowa Progressives, we should definitely collaborate to some extent so that we can pick consensus folks who need our support while places like my site can emphasize support for a particular few candidates each week. Drop me an email or get in touch with me via the Contact form on my blog and we can set something up or work together.

Now a death penalty candidate is progressive? He's a democrat but he's not progressive.

Hey factchecker,

Do the words "big tent" mean anything to you?

Let's not play police. It's so, well, unprogressive.

Don't forget - your local Republican legislator is pro-death penalty and anti-choice:
Des Moines Register Letter to the Editor - 3/4/06

Sign of decline

"What has come about in a civilized society?" asks Rep. Danny Carroll, R-Grinnell ("House Committee Endorses Death Penalty Bill," Nov. 24).

One thing that has come about is Representative Carroll's call for Iowans to resume the practice of capital punishment. This is an appeal, not to civilization, but to barbarity.

— D.A. Smith, Grinnell.
