John Kerry at Grinnell College (Reminder and Update)
For those who didn’t see our previous announcement, John Kerry will be giving a major address about the Iraq war and the importance of dissent at Grinnell College tomorrow afternoon at 1:30PM in the Harris Center Concert Hall (10th Ave. between Park St. and East St. in Grinnell, IA). We expect a big crowd, so arrive early. No tickets are required, and doors will likely open between 12:30 and 1. To help the line move faster, please don’t bring large bags or signs. WiFi is unfortunately only available to those with a Grinnell network username and password.
If you missed Senator Kerry’s statewide email yesterday, here’s some of what he said:
This is a chance for me to put into context some things I have been thinking about and which have been important to me since I returned home from Vietnam. I am particularly grateful to share these thoughts at Grinnell College, which has such a proud history of educating young men and women through free inquiry and the open exchange of ideas.
This Saturday, May 6, I hope to continue that tradition with you in a very personal discussion about the meaning and responsibility of freedom and the enormous challenges our country faces as our soldiers are fighting and dying in a war that has gone off course, with dissent and debate stifled here at home.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow if you can make it!
